Months: May to July

Summer gives the perfect opportunity to maintain your healthy lawn. Ensure it has plenty of water during the dryer days and do not over-mow your lawn in hot weather.

Standard Treatment Plan

Pitch Perfect Lawns will apply a balanced feed to give your lawn essential nutrients. We will also apply a liquid herbicide to control any weeds like Dandelions, Daisies, or Docks.

Treatments needed may include the following:

  • Broadleaf Weed Treatment
  • Application Of Summer Feed Containing Balanced Nutrients
  • Mechanical Aeration
Commonly Refers To The Process Of Using Mechanized Equipment To Either Puncture The Soil With Spikes (Spike Aeration) Or Remove Approximately 1″X2″ Cores Of Soil From The Ground (Core Aeration). Spike Aeration Involves The Use Of An Aeration Machine With Spikes Up To A Foot Or More In Length. Spike Aeration Is Sometimes Used To Address Drainage Issues In Areas With Turf. Core Aeration Is Done On Turf Areas As A Means Of Reducing Turf Compaction, Reducing Thatch Build-Up, Improving The Infiltration Of Water/Nutrients, And Creating An Environment Where Grass Seed Can Have Direct Contact With The Soil.
    Application Of Wetting Agents
  • Top Dressing
  • Overseeding

  • Worm Control
Worms In General Are To Be Encouraged As Their Burrowing Helps To Aerate The Soil. Worms Feed On And Recycle Decaying Vegetable Matter. A Few Species Deposit Their Muddy Waste On The Soil Surface Where In Wet Weather It Can Smear When In Contact With Your Foot Or Mower. The Smear Marks Are Unsightly And Can Act As Ideal Spots For Weeds To Germinate.
  • Wetting Agents
In Periods Of Hot, Dry, Even Windy Dry Weather Lawns Can Suffer From A Lack Of Moisture. Dry Patches Can Develop. Wetting Agents Will Counter The Effects Of Dry Patches And Encourage The Soil To Make Better Use Of Any Available Moisture.
  • Growth Regulators
The Height To Which Grass Grows Can Be Influenced With An Application Of A Growth Regulator. This Is Particularly Useful If Applied Before You Go Away On Holiday.
